The Danish National Board of Health has published a revised recommendation for how reception and status monitoring should be carried out on major x-ray devices for teeth examinations. The recommendation elaborates on previous requirements and contains suggestions for new measurement methods.

The background for updating the National Clinical Guideline for Treatment of Brain Metastases is that local treatment (stereotactic radiation therapy) has gained more space in the treatment of brain metastases.

The National Board of Health has not updated recommendations for cervical cancer screening since 2012. New evidence has been obtained for the detection of HPV infection as a screening method instead of or as a supplement to microscopic examination of cervical cells, and several countries plan to rearrange their screening programs.

The deadline for submission of proposals for DRG change for year 2019 to the Danish National Board of Health (Sundhedsdatastyrelsen) is November 1, 2017. Different stakeholders can submit a proposal. However, hospitals and individual physicians are the most relevant applicants. Application form for DRG change in Denmark is much simplier compared to other countries.

Article “Cost analysis of bariatric surgery in Denmark made with a decision-analytic model” was published in Danish Medical Journal. Surgery was found cost-effective at 10 years and cost saving over life time perspective in comparison with conservative medical management.

Danish Health Data Protection Agency (Sundhedsdatastyrelsen) calls for submission of the proposals for the change of DRG system with the deadline of the 1st of November 2017. Changes will be considered for implementation from 1st of January 2019.
