The members of the Treatment Council appointed in Denmark

In late February 2021, eleven out of fifteen needed members and three observers of the Treatment Council (Behandlingsråd) were appointed in Denmark. The Treatment Council is a new model for assessing treatment methods and health technologies, expected to become fully operational in early 2021. Earlier in February 2021, the final method and process framework of the Treatment Council was approved.

Changes in the Danish Health Care Classification System in January 2021

The Danish Health Authority (Sundhedsstyrelsen) updates the Health Care Classification System (Sundheds-væsenets Klassifikations System, SKS) quarterly. It publishes the updates on its website two weeks before the implementation, while the files with the changes are sent to the hospital systems. The most significant changes include new codes in the fields of ophthalmology, gynecology, COVID testing, and radiological imaging.

National clinical guideline on urinary incontinence in women was updated in Denmark

On March 30, 2020, the Danish National Board of Health updated the national clinical guideline on the assessment and treatment of urinary incontinence in women. It is recommended to choose retropubic mid-urethral sling operation for women with involuntary urination who need surgical treatment. It is also provided new data on the effectiveness of supervised pelvic floor training

Changes in the Danish Health Care Classification System in July 2019

The Danish Health Authority published new codes for the Health Care Classification System in July 2019, including nine surgical codes for ophthalmological and anal fistula procedures, as well as thirteen medical codes. New sub-chapter with supplementary codes to specify the operating technique for eye surgery (KZLD) was implemented.
