Innovative payment schemes

On March 8, 2023, the Ministry of Health and Prevention published an Order in the Official Journal of the French Republic on the coverage of the INTERVAPOR system for lung volume reduction under Forfait innovation program.

On January 12, 2023, the Dutch Healthcare Institute (ZIN) will start accepting project idea applications for round 9 of the Promising Care subsidy scheme that will be awarded in 2024.

In September 2022, the Dutch Healthcare Institute (Zorginstituut Nederland, ZIN) announced three more projects which received a subsidy under the "Subsidy scheme for promising care" in 2022 for research of PET/CT scan instead of CT scan for post-screening in lung cancer, treatment for head and neck cancer that spares lymph nodes in the neck and surgery to prevent lymphedema after cancer treatment. In total, eight projects will receive a subsidy in 2022.

On June 28, 2022, the Dutch Organization for Health Research and Development (ZonMw) launched a call for subsidy “Implementation of Knowledge and Innovations in Appropriate Care” to improve Dutch healthcare in line with Appropriate Care principles. Subsidy applications will be submitted until September 13, 2022.

In April 2022, the Dutch Healthcare Institute (Zorginstituut Nederland, ZIN) announced two projects which received a subsidy under the "Subsidy scheme for promising care" in 2022 for research of a transcatheter tricuspid valve repair in severe leakage of the tricuspid valve and precision radiation in epilepsy. In total, five projects will receive a subsidy in 2022.

On March 4, 2022, the Dutch Healthcare Institute (Zorginstituut Nederland, ZIN) announced three projects which received a subsidy under the "Subsidy scheme for promising care" in 2022 for research of a new minimally invasive endoscopy-guided surgery in patients with spontaneous cerebral hemorrhage, oral immunotherapy in children to cure a food allergy and cutting the diaphragm band in chronic abdominal complaints.

The French Ministry of Solidarity and Health constantly announces the new experiments initiated under Article 51 of the Social Security Financing Act. These experiments are focused on various topics concerning medical technologies and the organization of care. At the beginning of January 2022, new experiments were announced which relate to geriatric care, autonomy loss prevention, physical rehabilitation during and after cancer treatment.

The French Ministry of Solidarity and Health constantly announces the new experiments initiated under Article 51 of the Social Security Financing Act. These experiments are focused on various topics concerning medical technologies and the organization of care. At the end of December 2021, new experiments were announced which relate to coordinated care of patients with long-term illnesses, telerehabilitation program for patients with COPD, care pathway for patients suffering from lymphedema, surgery for pterygium, and others.

On February 1, 2022, the Dutch Healthcare Institute (ZIN) will start accepting project idea applications for rounds 7 and 8 of the Promising Care subsidy scheme that will be awarded in 2023. Round 7 will be opened on February 1, 2022, and round 8 will begin on July 5, 2022.

The French Ministry of Solidarity and Health constantly announces the new experiments initiated under Article 51 of the Social Security Financing Act. These experiments are focused on various topics concerning medical technologies and the organization of care. In the period from the end of July to the middle of September, new experiments related to cardiac rehabilitation, digital support for patients with cancer, and personalized perinatal support for women were announced.

At the end of July, three new experiments related to the system of care for people with disabilities, families with overweight children, and homeless drug users were announced.

On July 13, 2021, the Dutch Healthcare Institute (ZIN) announced three projects which were awarded under the "Subsidy scheme for promising care" framework. Two projects concerned MedTech - artificial pancreas and knee distraction.
