2022 PHRC and PRME projects awarded announced in France
On June 22, 2022, the list of awarded PHRC and PRME projects, submitted in 2021, was published on the website of the French Ministry of Health and Prevention.
Coverage with evidence development programs is designed to test innovations (feasibility, efficacy, safety, cost-effectiveness) before their implementation in the health care system or provide a framework for managed introduction with the parallel bridging of key evidence gaps. There are several coverages with evidence development programs in France, including the Hospital Program of Clinical Research (Programme Hospitalier de Recherche Clinique, PHRC) and the Health Economic Research Program (Programme de Recherche Medico-Economique, PRME).
PHRC program facilitates research within hospitals, assessment of the feasibility of new methods or safety and clinical effectiveness program, and it is sub-divided into PHRC-N (national), PHRC-K (cancer), and PHRC-I (interregional). PRME program evaluates the clinical and health economic utility of novel methods.
In 2022, 99 PHRC-N projects were awarded (36 of which relate to Med Tech). There was no information on the awarded PHRC-K and PHRC-I projects. Six projects were awarded to the PRME program (four of which relate to Med Tech).
