Update of the CCAM Classification of Medical Procedures in France
On July 10, 2025, a decision of the National Union of Health Insurance Funds regarding the update of the CCAM Classification of Medical Procedures was published in the Official Journal of the French Republic. The update includes the provisional registration of one procedure code and changes to indications and billing notes for several existing codes.
The main update concerns provisional registration of a new procedure code JGND858 "Destruction of prostate lesion by high-intensity focused ultrasound [HIFU], transrectally with ultrasound guidance" under the CCAM sub-paragraph 08.03.01.01 "Destruction of prostate lesion". This registration represents the outcome of the "Forfait Innovation" (Innovation Package) pathway for HIFU destruction of localized prostate adenocarcinoma, initiated in 2014.
The updates are expected to come into force on September 1, 2025.
