The Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare has published the 2018 version of the Classification of non-surgical medical interventions
The Swedish Classification of Care Measures (Klassifikation av vårdåtgärder, KVÅ) contains codes for surgical (Klassifikation av kirurgiska åtgärder, KKÅ) and non-surgical (Klassifikation av medicinska åtgärder, KMÅ) medical interventions. It is managed by the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) and updated annually.
Eight new codes for the following non-surgical medical procedures will be added in 2018:
- Maternal Blood Test for Fetal Diagnosis (Non-Invasive Prenatal Diagnosis, Noninvasive Prenatal Testing) (AM042);
- Insertion of suprapubic catheter (DK010);
- Removal of suprapubic catheter (DK023);
- Vacuum Aspiration, Non Surgical (DL009);
- Removal of peripheral long-term catheters (SP502);
- Insertion of peripheral long-term catheters (SP505);
- Correction of peripheral center catheter (SP815);
- Correction of peripheral long-term catheters (SP816).
