In June 2018, Danish Health Authority published new codes for the Health Care Classification System, including two surgical, two medical procedure codes and three codes for MRI diagnostics. These codes are used to classify procedures in Danish DRG system.

In April 2018, Danish Health Authority published 163 new codes for the Health Care Classification System, including five diagnosis codes, 34 surgical and 29 medical procedure codes. These codes are used to classify procedures in Danish DRG system.

In January 2018, Danish Health Authority published 96 new codes for the Health Care Classification System. These codes are used to classify procedures in Danish DRG system.

Applications for creation of new codes, removal of code or changes to existing codes and code description can be submitted by the Norwegian Directorate of Health.

Eight new medical procedure codes for obstetric, urological, gynecological and vascular interventions will be added to the Swedish Classification of non-surgical medical interventions (KMÅ) in 2018.

Eight new surgical procedure codes for otorhinolaryngologic, colorectal and orthopedic interventions will be added to the Swedish Classification of surgical interventions (KKÅ) in 2018.

MTRC has completed reimbursement report for robotic surgery in 11 EU countries. Procedure codes are available only in number of geographies, including Belgium, Denmark, England, Germany, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland. Robotic-specific procedure codes are not available in Austria, France, Italy and the Netherlands.

Our analysis of creation of procedure codes for TAVI in 11 European markets shows different speed in creation of codes, but in general it was a quick process (1.8 years on average). However, in all markets, availability of procedure code did not automatically lead to reimbursement or appropriate reimbursement.
