Ninety-one applications for innovation funding of the projects for new forms of care were received in Germany

On May 27, 2024, the Innovation Committee at the Federal Joint Committee (G-BA) announced that ninety-one applications (project ideas) for innovation funding of the projects for new forms of care were received.

The ninety-one applications that were received concerned the following topics:

  • Models of oral health in people in need of care and people with disabilities: 6;
  • Outpatient care in healthcare: 4;
  • Further development of cross-sectoral care facilities and care networks: 13;
  • Digital support concepts to strengthen accessibility in the healthcare system: 5;
  • Domestic and sexual violence – care and prevention: 9;
  • Data and algorithm-based decisions in general practice – new care concepts for strengthening guideline-compliant care: 3;
  • Improving care processes in rescue services and emergency and acute care: 11;
  • Improving care processes through data-based needs identification and design of care pathways: 16;
  • Care models to strengthen nicotine or tobacco cessation: 4.

Also, twenty applications were received for the open-topic funding announcement.

The Innovation Committee is now expected to decide which project ideas can be submitted for a full application in the fourth quarter of 2024.

The relevant funding announcements were published on March 22, 2024, with the submission deadline on May 22, 2024.
