The revised EBM catalog for the third quarter of 2025 published in Germany
On July 1, 2025, the revised EBM (German Uniform Evaluation Standard) catalog for the third quarter of 2025 came into force. The EBM catalog is used to reimburse day case and outpatient services via the fee-for-service model.
The main changes introduced concern updates of the contents (services legends, preambles of several EBM subchapters) and the introduction of new EBM codes for the reimbursement of transmitters for telemonitoring and telemedical monitoring of implantable cardiac devices, as well as codes for the services provided within the co-funded study on low-dose pulsed ultrasound for pseudarthrosis.
The examples of the codes introduced are provided below:
Sub-chapter 40.18 “Flat-rate fees for telemonitoring of heart failure and telemedical function analysis”
- Code 40909 “Flat rate for a required transmitter in connection with the performance of the service(s) according to code(s) 04414, 04416, 13574, 13576 or 13584” with a tariff of €396.67.
Sub-chapter 61.13 “Co-funded study Directive "Low-dose pulsed ultrasound of pseudoarthrosis”
- Code 61150 “Flat rate for visits within the framework of the co-funded study Directive "Low-dose pulsed ultrasound of pseudarthrosis" with a tariff of €31.36;
- Code 61151 “Flat rate for device costs, including consumables, when using the device within the co-funded study for the first 150 applications” with a tariff of €1,904;
