Innovation funding

On January 12, 2023, the Dutch Healthcare Institute (ZIN) will start accepting project idea applications for round 9 of the Promising Care subsidy scheme that will be awarded in 2024.

On November 18, 2022, the Innovation Committee at the Federal Joint Committee (G-BA) announced the selection of twenty-eight project ideas for Innovation Funding of the new forms of care within the framework of the two-stage application process. A total of 114 project ideas were received in response to the funding announcement of March 3, 2022, and only twenty-eight were accepted.

On November 18, 2022, the Innovation Committee at the Federal Joint Committee (G-BA) announced that sixteen applications for Innovation Funding of the new forms of care were accepted. These applications relate to the funding announcement of March 17, 2021. Most projects relate to interdisciplinary or cross-sectoral care and pathways.

On October 28, 2022, the Innovation Committee at the Federal Joint Committee (G-BA) reported that 231 applications were received for innovation funding of healthcare research projects.

On October 17, 2022, the Innovation Committee at the Federal Joint Committee (G-BA) published the decision, recommending the transfer to standard care for another completed project. The project relates to the improvement of the management of cancer patients.

On September 1, 2022, the Institute for Hospital Remuneration Systems (INeK) announced the start of the application process according to §6 (2) KHEntgG (New Examination and Treatment Methods, NUB) for 2023. The deadline for the submission of applications is October 31, 2022.

On July 14, 2022, the Innovation Committee at the Federal Joint Committee (G-BA) published the decisions, recommending the transfer to standard care for two completed projects. The projects relate to the improvement of sepsis management.

On June 27, 2022, the Innovation Committee at the Federal Joint Committee (G-BA) published the determined funding priorities for healthcare research projects (seven topics) and clinical guidelines (four topics).

In July 2022, NHS Accelerated Access Collaborative launched a new NHS Innovation Service to support the spread of promising and impactful innovations. It is an online service for health innovators (individuals and companies) providing tailored and coordinated support or advice for "adoption-ready" products. The service will help innovators to understand the regulations and standards they need to meet, the evidence they should demonstrate, and the NHS procurement and reimbursement processes.

On June 24, 2022, the Innovation Committee at the Federal Joint Committee (G-BA) published the decisions, recommending the transfer to standard care for two completed projects. The projects relate to preventing delirium, postoperative cognitive dysfunction, and back pain therapy using e-health.

On June 7, 2022, the Innovation Committee at the Federal Joint Committee (G-BA) published the overview of the 32 innovative healthcare research projects that will be funded, including those belonging to the eHealth technology group.
