Rapid HTAs of nine medical devices released in Tuscany in July 2025
The Tuscany Regional Healthcare HTA body issues three types of documents: full HTA reports, rapid HTA reports, and motivational forms. With the regional decree 17010 of July 28, 2025, Tuscany Regional Healthcare published nine rapid HTA reports (eight new assessments and one reassessment) of medical devices.
Some examples of evaluated technologies are provided below:
- FIL SSF Toric (Soleko), sutureless scleral fixation lens for aphakic patients with rupture and/or absence of capsular bag who require correction of astigmatism;
- Montgomery Thyroplasty Implant (Boston Medical Products) for medialization thyroplasty in patients with unilateral vocal cord paralysis (UVFP) to improve voice quality;
- SCOUT reflector (Merit Medical), a component of radar localization system for non-palpable breast neoplasms, particularly in patients treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy.
Other reports concern neurosurgery, orthopedics, peripheral vascular, and surgical procedures fields.
