A regular update of the Danish SKS coding system from April 2025

The Danish Health Data Authority (Sundhedsdatastyrelsen) quarterly updates the Health Care Classification System (Sundhedsvæsenets Klassifikations System, SKS). The latest version was published in mid-March 2025 to come into force on April 1, 2025. 

Among other changes, fifty-one new procedure codes were introduced concerning cardiovascular, diagnostic imaging, dermatology, gastrointestinal, nephrology and urology, nuclear medicine, orthopedics, peripheral vascular, pulmonary and airways, surgical procedures, robotic surgery, and some other fields. Some examples of newly added codes are provided below:

  • UXMD25C MRI scan of the anal canal;
  • KJFG34 Laparoscopic closure of terminal colostomy/creation of colonic anastomosis;
  • ZZ5202 MED test (Minimal Erythema Dose);
  • KTKD00A Dilation of the urethra with a drug-coated balloon;
  • KNGU01B Removal of medial, distal component of partial knee prosthesis;
  • KFCB96A Aortopexy, with or without side branches;
  • BGDA3 Oxygen therapy with automatic oxygen regulation;
  • KZYK05 Converted from the robot-assisted percutaneous endoscopic procedure;
  • BWHP148 Treatment with etrasimod.
