Oxygen therapy

The Danish Health Authority has initiated a process of assessing the national clinical recommendations. Work is set to start in 2024. Recommendations in diagnostic imaging, endoscopy, endocrine, ENT, gastrointestinal, nephrology and urology, neurology and neurosurgery, neuromodulation, obstetrics and gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, pulmonary and airways, radiotherapy, spine, and some other fields are considered for reassessment.

On October 11, 2022, the Treatment Council (Behandlingsråd) announced the selection of two topics for major analyses (større analyser) for 2023, including the use of home non-invasive ventilation and the use of internet-based cognitive behavioral therapy.

On behalf of the Federal Joint Committee (G-BA), the Institute for Quality and Efficiency in Health Care (IQWiG) has researched current evidence-based guidelines on the chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), summarized their recommendations and checked the need for updates for the COPD disease management program (DMP).

On the 20th of November, the Danish Health Authority (Sundhedsstyrelsen) has published a national clinical guideline for the oxygen therapy of acutely ill adult patients.

The Danish National Board of Health sent a new national clinical guideline for treatment with oxygen in the acutely ill adult patient in consultation.
