Ongoing HTAs by Skåne University Hospital in Sweden in February 2024
In February 2024, the Skåne University Hospital is working on several HTAs, including evaluations in the cardiovascular, e-health, endocrine, men’s health, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopedics fields. Some examples can be found below:
- AI-assisted review in mammography screening;
- Organized prostate cancer testing (health economic analysis);
- Benign prostatic hyperplasia, alternative treatments incl. green laser as a treatment method (vaporization in benign prostatic hyperplasia, compared to TUR-P);
- Shock wave treatment in primary care for various pain conditions - evidence for effects of shock wave treatment in tendinopathy (for example, muscular pain and tension conditions, tendinitis and ligaments, for example runner's knee, plantar fasciitis, epicondylgia);
- Heat aids in systemic sclerosis;
- Frequency of radiological follow-up examinations in glioma.
