NICE opened a consultation on the updated health technology evaluations manual
On June 27, 2023, NICE launched a consultation on the updated health technology evaluation process manual, initially published in January 2022.
The first part of this consultation is related to the proportionate approach to technology appraisals. Through this approach, NICE makes light-touch, faster evaluations of simpler, low-risk treatments, which allows producing rapid guidance for these topics. NICE developed this approach during 2022-2023, and now details are incorporated into the NICE health technology evaluations manual.
The second part of this consultation is on a revised approach to updating technology appraisals for COVID-19 medicines.
The deadline for comments submission is July 25, 2023.
