Topics for major analyses by the Danish Treatment Council in 2023 selected
On October 11, 2022, the Treatment Council (Behandlingsråd) announced the selection of two topics for major analyses (større analyser) for 2023, including the use of home non-invasive ventilation and the use of internet-based cognitive behavioral therapy.
The analysis on the use of home non-invasive ventilation is aimed at patients suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and the benefits that this patient group can get from receiving oxygen treatment at home, including the reduction of acute admissions.
The other analysis is aimed at the use of internet-based cognitive behavioral therapy in the treatment of mild to moderate anxiety. The processing is handled via the website internetpsykiatrien.dk. Internet-based therapy can support and, in some cases, replace the existing mental health services and thus reduce the resource load on psychiatry.
If the Treatment Council has the resources to do so, a third analysis theme for 2023 can be selected. The Treatment Council will decide on this at the Council meeting in November 2022.
The Treatment Council is a new body for the procedure and technologies evaluation that became fully operational in late May 2021. The Treatment Council is expected to prepare 2-3 major annual analyses based on the fundamental topics concerning the treatment regimens or treatment organization approaches. Based on the received proposals, the Board of the Danish Regions selects 2-3 analysis topics once a year, which constitutes the Council's annual program for major analyses.
