Rapid HTAs of three medical devices released in Tuscany

The HTA body of the Tuscany Regional Healthcare issues three types of documents: full HTA reports, rapid HTA reports, and motivational forms. With regional decree 24486 of December 7, 2022, Tuscany Regional Healthcare has published assessments of three medical devices in the surgical procedures, neurology and neurosurgery, and extracorporeal treatments areas.

Below is the list of technologies that have been assessed:

• Mixed composition mesh DynaMesh - IPST by FEG Textiltechnik, for surgical treatment of parastomal hernias;
• Tumor treating field (TTF) OPTUNE (NOVOTTF-200A) by Novocure for patients with newly diagnosed glioblastoma multiforme after surgery and radiotherapy with adjuvant temozolomide in combination with maintenance temozolomide;
• TransMedics Organ Care System (OCS) Heart by TransMedics, a portable system for perfusion and monitoring of the heart.
