Rapid HTAs of seven medical devices released in Tuscany in May 2025

The Tuscany Regional Healthcare HTA body issues three types of documents: full HTA reports, rapid HTA reports, and motivational forms. With the regional decree 11557 of May 29, 2025, Tuscany Regional Healthcare published seven rapid HTA reports (six new assessments and one reassessment) of medical devices in the cardiovascular, e-health, intensive care and operating room, neuromodulation, ophthalmology, and orthopedics fields.

Some examples of evaluated technologies are provided below:

• Evoque tricuspid valve replacement system by Edwards Lifesciences for the treatment of tricuspid regurgitation;
• InterStim X system by Medtronic for sacral neuromodulation treatment of bladder and bowel disorders and chronic pelvic pain;
• LacriJet by FCI Ophthalmics for treating epiphora, congenital nasolacrimal duct obstruction, and canalicular laceration in patients older than one year.
