New procedure codes in Finland from August 2024
On July 9, 2024, the updated Finnish classification of procedures (THL) was published to come into force on August 1, 2024. Forty-three new procedure codes were implemented concerning diagnostic imaging, nuclear medicine, neurovascular, radiology, and other fields. Some examples of new codes are listed below:
- AA5TS PET-MRI of brain amino acid metabolism;
- FM1MR PET computed tomography study of myocardial viability;
- KE1AS PET-MRI of the prostate;
- PA2AI Cone lobe CT angiography of cerebral arteries;
- PA2QT Intravenous occlusion of a meningeal artery;
- PJ5VN Location of the sentinel lymph node with gamma imaging, doctor's statement in the medical report.
