List of medical procedures reimbursed with restrictions updated in the Netherlands
On January 01, 2024, the Dutch Healthcare Institute (ZIN) published the updated list of medical procedures reimbursed under basic health insurance with restrictions or limitations. The procedures have the so-called "claim" codes (aanspraakcodes). The Dutch Healthcare Authority assigns the "claim" codes based on positions published by the ZIN.
Some examples of the newly introduced procedures are listed below:
- Procedure code 032489 “Diagnostic navigation bronchoscopy, including one or more test excisions, curettage and/or aspiration of material for cytological and/or pathological examination” was included in the list with "claim" code 2601 "Various restrictions";
- Two procedure codes – code 031920 “Inserting an active middle ear implant” and code 031921 “Replacing hearing aid with active middle ear implant” – were included in the list with "claim" code 2601 "Various restrictions".
- Procedure code 050531 “Complex molecular diagnostics – gene expression test based on 21 genes, oncotype DX” was included in the list with "claim" code 2601 "Various restrictions".
- Four procedure codes – code 037430 “De-infibulation”, code 037431 “Clitoral reconstruction with vaginal flap covering”, code 037432 “Creation of a clitoral hood after previous clitoral reconstruction”, code 037433 “Labia reconstruction” – were included in the list with "claim" code 2601 "Various restrictions".
