Reimbursement summary for angioplasty of arteries of lower extremities

Dutch Healthcare Authority published the second release of the 2025 DRG package

On October 01, 2024, the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa) published the second release of the 2025 DRG package (RZ25b) that applies to specialist medical care and geriatric rehabilitation care. It includes three new procedure codes, four new supplementary payments (OZPs), 18 new diagnosis codes, and two new DRGs.

Some examples of new procedure codes include:

  • Code 033974 “Plastic correction of breast deformity by autologous fat transplantation after previous breast reconstruction or breast-conserving surgery”;
  • Code 034679 “Ultrasound of the intestines to measure wall thickness and assess the degree of inflammation”.

Four new supplementary payments (OZPs) will be implemented for molecular diagnostics, proactive palliative care planning, and extracorporeal treatment. Some examples of new OZP codes include:

  • Code 050548 “Pathological examination - complex whole genome molecular diagnostics (WGS)”;
  • Code 192161 “Normothermic regional perfusion (NRP) of donor abdominal organs in DCD liver transplantation”.

Two new DRGs will be implemented for ultrasound of the intestines in chronic inflammation of the colon (Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis).

The effective date of the release is January 1, 2025.
