Dutch Healthcare Authority published draft release of the DRG package for 2024

On December 19, 2022, the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa) published a concept release of the DRG package for 2024 (RZ24a). Twenty-four new procedure codes, including, as an example, new codes for diagnostic navigation bronchoscopy and middle ear implant insertion and meniscal suture.

Furthermore, three new diagnosis codes (for example for restorative care after reconstructive treatment for female genital mutilation) were introduced.

In addition, three new supplementary payments (OZPs), and eleven new DRGs, were introduced. Some of these concern the following procedures: osseointegration prosthesis after amputation, injection treatments for migraine, and screening of colorectal carcinoma with of CT colonography.

The definitive release of the DRG package for 2024 (RZ24a) will be published by the NZa no later than May 1, 2023.
