Digital image diagnostics theme survey initiated by Swedish TLV

At the end of August 2021, the Dental and Pharmaceutical Benefits Agency (TLV) has initiated a theme survey on digital image diagnostics to identify new and innovative technology that may become important in Swedish healthcare. The current thematic survey could be used as an opportunity to notify TLV about new technologies. The theme survey concerns is on diagnostic imaging with a focus on radiology and pathology. Products of interest should perform an automated review or analysis of digital images and thus work as decision support for clinicians.

If the technologies are included in the theme survey, it could lead to potential inclusion of the technology in the Orderly introduction framework of medical technologies that aim to evaluate new medical technologies with a significant impact on the Swedish healthcare system, and to provide national recommendations, to reduce the inequality of adoption of innovative medical technologies among Swedish regions.

The suggestions could be submitted no later than September 24, 2021.
