Decision on the update of the CCAM Classification published in France

On October 18, 2025, the Decision of the National Union of Health Insurance Funds (UNCAM) relating to the list of procedures and services covered by the Health Insurance, including the CCAM Classification, was published in the Official Journal of the French Republic.

The changes include the decrease in tariffs for certain imaging procedures with staggered effective dates (November 5, 2025, and July 1, 2026), modifications to billing rules for conventional radiology procedures, new specifications for archiving and managing digital medical images, and an update to the value of modifiers. An updated version of the CCAM classification has not yet been published.

The Decision also implements changes to the Medical Convention, specifically its Annex, which sets the conditions and amounts of the technical packages for CT, MRI, and PET scans. These technical packages cover the depreciation and operating costs of the equipment, including main and ancillary equipment, maintenance, non-medical personnel, consumables, and costs related to digital archiving of images, as well as contrast agents/radiopharmaceuticals. The update is characterized by a general trend of reduction, introducing phased decreases from November 5, 2025, till January 1, 2027.
