New code for the “ProHerz” app was introduced in the EBM catalog in Germany

The updated German Uniform Evaluation Standard (EBM) catalog came into force on October 1, 2025. The EBM catalog (Einheitlicher Bewertungsmaßstab) regulates the reimbursement of services in the public outpatient sector in Germany and is updated once a quarter (four times a year).

Among other changes, a new code for the “ProHerz” health app was introduced in the catalog:

  • Code 01481 “Additional flat-rate fee for monitoring and evaluation of the digital health application (DiGA) ProHerz, as listed in the Directory of digital health applications in line with §139e of the SGB V” with a tariff of €7.93.

The corresponding decision by the Evaluation Committee was made on September 3, 2025.

“ProHerz”, developed by ProCarement GmbH, Germany, was introduced in the Directory on May 15, 2023. The app is a therapy companion for patients with heart failure to support self-management and as an early warning system to identify changes in the course of the disease. For this purpose, the vital signs measured daily by the patients (blood pressure, oxygen saturation, pulse, temperature, and weight) are recorded in mobile devices (smartphones, tablets) and analyzed automatically, making it possible to document and monitor the state of health of patients independently. In addition, based on this data and the individual health and therapy profile, “ProHerz” offers digitally implemented and personalized health coaching and other risk prevention functions. The app obtained permanent reimbursement in the DiGA Directory on May 14, 2025.
