The Austrian Institute for HTA published the 2023 annual HTA report

The report contains AIHTA works, activities, and publications in 2023, including MedTech-related products: two HTA Project reports, one Policy brief, seven new or updated Decision support documents, and eight HTA-Information Service Rapid Reviews. Some examples of the AIHTA MedTech-related products are provided below: 

• HTA Project reports:
  • Image-guided spinal injections in the treatment of chronic spinal pain; 
  • Robot-assisted surgery for breast and abdominal procedures – update 2023;
• Policy brief: 
  • PET/ PET-CT demand: evidence on oncological indications for care planning – update 2023;
• Decision support documents:
  • Percutaneous aspiration thrombectomy for pulmonary embolism;
  • Transcranial magnetic resonance-controlled high-intensity focused ultrasound treatment in patients with drug-resistant essential tremor;
• HTA-Information Service Rapid Reviews:
• Extracorporeal shock wave therapy for orthopedic indications;
• Radiofrequency denervation for subacute/chronic back pain or subacute/chronic cervical syndrome;
• Robot-assisted rehabilitation for incomplete paraplegia.

The report also includes some other MedTech-related works such as international projects, regulation of HTA, and other activities and publications.
