Rapid HTAs of six medical devices released in Tuscany in November 2025

The Tuscany Regional Healthcare HTA body issues three types of documents: full HTA reports, rapid HTA reports, and motivational forms. With the regional decrees 23574 of November 10, 2025, and 24034 of November 17, 2025, Tuscany Regional Healthcare published six rapid HTA reports (five new assessments and one reassessment) of medical devices in the cardiovascular, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, dermatology (dressing) and surgical (consumables) fields.

Some examples of evaluated technologies are provided below:

  • Archimedes BPS (by AMG International GmbH), a biodegradable biliary and pancreatic stent for patients undergoing complex abdominal surgery, particularly robotic and open duodenopancreatectomies;
  • Implantable artificial iris (ARTIFICIALIRIS SELECT by Human Optics) for patients with total or partial aniridia, whether congenital or acquired, with or without associated ocular conditions (aphakia, pseudophakia), who require functional and aesthetic iris correction.
