Applications for 2025 Incentive subsidy round of the Efficiency Research program now accepted
On May 25, 2023, the Dutch Organization for Health Research and Development (ZonMw) initiated submission of applications for research into the effectiveness and costs of interventions (diagnostic and therapeutic) under the 2025 Incentive subsidy round of the Efficiency Research program. The deadline for submission of applications is September 5, 2023.
The ZonMw works to improve disease prevention, healthcare practices, and the health status of Dutch citizens by stimulating and funding research, development, and implementation of innovative technologies.The ZonMw Efficiency Research program for 2022-2026 is intended to develop socially relevant and high-quality knowledge about the effectiveness and costs of innovative and existing non-pharmaceutical diagnostic and therapeutic interventions within the basic insurance package or long-term care.
The following types of projects are eligible for the Efficiency Research program:
- The project provides knowledge about the effectiveness and costs of non-pharmacotherapeutic interventions;
- The project is a comparison of intervention with standard care;
- The project concerns comparative research into interventions with proven safety and plausible efficacy.
Within this call for proposals, which opened on May 25, 2023, project ideas can be submitted for research into the effectiveness and costs of interventions (diagnostic, therapeutic, and care activities in healthcare). A project idea can only be submitted by a main applicant from a research or healthcare institution.
The maximum amount per research proposal is €800,000 for a maximum duration of 10 years. The total available budget in this round is €6,840,000.
Subsidy applications shall be submitted until September 5, 2023. The decision on applications will be published by the end of June 2024.
