2023-2025 National HTA Program for Medical Devices adopted in Italy
On September 5, 2023, the Ministry of Health published the Decree of June 9, 2023, on the adoption of the 2023-2025 National HTA Medical Devices Program.
The plan was prepared by the National Agency for Regional Health Services (AGENAS) and approved by the program’s Steering Committee (Cabina di Regia) and the State-Regions Conference.
Although the Program was established in 2017, it will become fully functional only in Q3 of 2023, with the first assessment being initiated in early 2024. This will have an impact on the adoption of healthcare technologies by healthcare providers throughout the country.
The Program is expected to be updated every three years.
