Publication Digest: Health Technology Assessment and Cardiology: A Review of the Present and Future of Innovation

MTRC shares the most relevant and impactful publications in the field of market access and HEOR for medical technologies in Europe through its Publications Digest. 

In a recent publication, Casado-Arroyo et al. reviewed the evolving landscape of HTA in cardiology across Europe, aiming to understand how clinical innovation and digital health are reshaping evidence requirements. Conducted as a European-wide scoping review, the study examined three central themes: clinician involvement, digital transformation, and policy heterogeneity across EU Member States. The authors concluded that the new EU HTA Regulation offers a promising path toward aligning clinical practice with evidence-based assessment and reimbursement decisions for cardiology devices.
