The revised EBM catalog for the second quarter of 2025 published in Germany

On April 1, 2025, the revised EBM (German Uniform Evaluation Standard) catalog for the second quarter of 2025 came into force. The main changes introduced concern updates of the contents (services legends, preambles of several EBM subchapters) and the introduction of new EBM codes related to follow-up and evaluation of another reimbursable health app and second-opinion consultations.

The examples of the codes introduced are provided below:

Sub-chapter 1.4 “Visits, ward rounds, assessment of home nursing care, prescription of special treatment measures, administrative tasks, telephone consultation, consultation fee, waiting time, counseling on organ and tissue donation”

  • 01479 “Additional flat rate for follow-up and evaluation of the digital health application (DiGA) elona therapy Depression in line with the Directory for digital health applications according to §139e SGB V” with a tariff of €7.93.

Sub-chapter 1.6 “Written communications, medical reports, teleconsultations”

  • 01645 “Information and counseling in connection with a medical second opinion procedure, as well as the compilation, duplication, and handover of medical findings, reports, physician’s letters, and other patient-related documents to the patient in line with § 6 (4) of the Directive of the Federal Joint Committee on the Second Opinion Procedure” with a tariff of €9.30.
