Rapid HTAs of four medical devices released in Tuscany in February 2025

The Tuscany Regional Healthcare HTA body issues three types of documents: full HTA reports, rapid HTA reports, and motivational forms. With the regional decrees 1585 of January 28, 2025, and 2633 of February 12, 2025, Tuscany Regional Healthcare published four new rapid HTA reports on medical devices used in cardiovascular, endoscopy, pulmonology, and general surgical fields.

Some examples of evaluated technologies are provided below:

  • RAM & SEW-EASY Surgical Suturing Devices by LSI Solution for patients with valvular pathology requiring surgical replacement with prosthesis, especially aortic and mitral valve replacement surgeries with endoscopic mini-thoracotomy approach;
  • X-Tack Endoscopic HeliX Tacking System by Apollo is used in patients with small gastric or colonic wall perforations undergoing endoscopic repair to prevent emergency surgery and in patients receiving prophylactic closure after endoscopic procedures to reduce the risk of postoperative complications, including delayed bleeding and delayed perforation.
