Reimbursement summary for angioplasty of arteries of lower extremities

New procedure and diagnostic codes added to the private reimbursement schedule in England

On February 17, 2025, the Clinical Coding and Schedule Development (CCSD) working group, which develops and maintains procedural and diagnostics nomenclatures for private payers in England, published Bulletins 200 and 096 with changes to be implemented no later than March 10, 2025.

Thirty-five new codes were introduced in the procedural schedule. Some examples of newly added codes are provided below:

  • K6116 Insertion of Extravascular Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (EV-ICD);
  • H3368 Laparoscopic Hartmann’s procedure;
  • J0313 Laparoscopic assisted excision of liver tumour;
  • M0288 Laparoscopic partial nephrectomy – bilateral;
  • T2220 Laparoscopic repair of femoral hernia requiring mesh – bilateral.

Ten new codes were added to the diagnostic schedule. Some examples are provided below:

  • 22030 Drug Induced Sleep Endoscopy;
  • 3071G Informed genomics - Comprehensive hereditary cancer panel;
  • 8045T HER2 (human epidermal growth factor receptor 2).
