Ongoing HTAs by AVALIA-T in Spain in November 2024

In November 2024, the Galician Agency for Health Technology Assessment (AVALIA-T) is working on several HTAs, including in cardiovascular, e-health, ICU/OR, in-vitro diagnostics, neurology and neurosurgery, neuromodulation, orthopedics, pulmonary and airways, radiotherapy, surgical procedures, and some other fields. These projects are being elaborated within the annual work plan of the Spanish Network of HTA Agencies (RedETS), financed by the Ministry of Health. Some examples can be found below:

  • Safety and clinical effectiveness of cryoanalgesia in pediatric patients after "pectus excavatum" surgery;
  • Peripherally inserted central catheter with reservoir (PICC-port) versus thoracic reservoir with central catheter (Port-a-Cath) in patients undergoing chemotherapy;
  • Utility of liquid biopsy in the management of colorectal cancer in I-IV stages;
  • Adaptive deep brain stimulation in Parkinson's disease;
  • Lattice radiotherapy in the curative or palliative treatment of deep, high-volume tumors and metastatic or irresectable disease;
  • Diagnostic and clinical utility of impulse oscillometry for use in patients with difficulty performing spirometry.
