Regular update of the Norwegian Laboratory Code System released
In late September 2023, the Norwegian Directorate of e-Health released an updated version of the Norwegian Laboratory Code (NLK) system to be implemented no later than November 1, 2023. The document with the allocation of new codes to reimbursement tariffs (Laboratoriekodeverk som gir rett til refusjon) was published as well.
NLK system is used for activity-based reimbursement by the Norwegian Health Economics Administration (Helfo) for laboratory tests performed in outpatient settings.
A total of 123 new codes were added to NLK in medical biochemistry, immunology and transfusiology, clinical pharmacology, medical microbiology, and medical genetic fields. Some examples of the newly-added codes are:
- NPU62260 B-CAR T cells (CD19 directed) (blood);
- NPU62261 B-CAR T cells (CD4+; CD19 directed) (blood);
- NPU62262 B-CAR T cells (CD8+; CD19 directed) (blood);
- NPU62150 T-lymc(CD4+; B)-Th2 (IL-4+) % (blood, T-lymphocytes);
- NPU62121 B-Perampanel (blood);
- NPU60227 Us-Virus whole genome (unspecified sample);
- NPU62130 Us-Pseudomonas (Colistin resistance) culture (unspecified sample);
- NPU62235 Us-Escherichia coli (EHEC) shiga toxin 1+2 DNA (unspecified sample);
- NOR35281 DNA-Digital droplet PCR.
Furthermore, 50 codes were terminated, and 69 codes were changed
