2023-2027 Digital Health Roadmap launched in France
On May 17, 2023, the Ministry of Health and Prevention published the 2023-2027 Digital Health Roadmap.
The new roadmap is supported by the Ministerial Delegation for Digital Health (DNS) in conjunction with its partners (Health insurance institution, Digital Health Agency, etc.) and all the stakeholders in the French healthcare system.
It specifies the priorities and the projects to be carried out by 2027, divided into four categories: Prevention, Care, Access to health, and Appropriateness. The roadmap also defined 18 priorities, which are divided into 65 objectives with identified dates and stakeholders responsible for their implementation.
One of the most significant new objectives is provided under priority 12-2. Under this priority, the role of telehealth will be supported and evaluated in priority health pathways, including (but not limited to) extending telemonitoring to other chronic pathologies than those defined in the Experimentation in Telemedicine for the Improvement of Healthcare Pathways (ETAPES program), developing the use of telehealth for the benefit of patients with chronic pathologies, promoting telecare, particularly for rehabilitation.
