Specialized Commissioning Clinical Commissioning Policies Work Programme updated in England
In December 2022, NHS England published an update of the Specialized Services Policy Pipeline (as of December 6, 2022). No new MedTech-related Clinical Commissioning Policies were added to the work program.
The following three new MedTech-related Clinical Commissioning Policies were published in the period from September 6, 2022, to December 6, 2022:
- MR-guided laser interstitial thermal therapy for the treatment of epileptogenic zones in children and adults with refractory focal epilepsy is recommended to be available as a routine commissioning treatment option within the criteria set out in the policy document;
- Fresh osteochondral allograft for osteochondral lesions of the knee in adults and post-pubescent children is recommended to be available as a routine commissioning treatment option within the criteria set out in the policy document;
- Multi-grip myoelectric control prosthetic hand is recommended to be available as a routine commissioning treatment option for congenital upper limb deficiency or upper limb amputation within the criteria set out in the policy document.
The status of ongoing policies was updated as well.
