Specialized Commissioning Clinical Commissioning Policies Work Programme updated in England
On September 01, 2022, NHS England published an update of the Specialized Services Policy Pipeline (as of August 24, 2022). Two new MedTech-related Clinical Commissioning Policies were added to the work program:
- Transcatheter edge-to-edge repair of the mitral valve (Percutaneous Mitral Valve Leaflet Repair) for secondary mitral regurgitation in adults;
- Pectus surgery for really severe pectus (cardiac compression + syncope).
The development of the policy on long-term left ventricular assist device therapy for advanced heart failure (all ages) was paused as new evidence is expected to be published in the autumn that would affect the policy proposition.
