Three more health apps obtained reimbursement in Germany
In early October 2021, three more health apps were introduced in the Directory of digital health applications (DiGAs) at the Federal Office for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM) and thus became reimbursable. These apps can be prescribed by physicians and psychotherapists and will be reimbursed by health insurers. In total, 23 health apps are now available at the DiGA Directory.
The health app "Oviva Direct for Obesity" (by Oviva) was introduced on October 3, 2021, and is aimed at the treatment of severe obesity (multimodal obesity therapy), as well as the support of patients in changing their habits. Oviva Direct for Obesity is available in German with a tariff of €345.
"Companion patella powered by medi" (by PrehApp) was introduced in the Directory on October 4, 2021. The app is developed for patients with anterior knee pain aged between 14 and 65 years. Based on the user's personal information on pain and stress perception, the movement therapy training plan is continuously adapted to the user's individual needs during the therapy. In addition to the training area, patients have access to a specialist library with articles on their disease, which provides educational support. Data on pain and functional restrictions are regularly recorded within the application and graphically processed for the patients and their treating physicians. The app was developed and validated in cooperation with the specialists of the Patellofemoral Committee of the German Knee Society. The app is available in German with a tariff of €345.10.
On October 10, 2021, the health app “Novego: coping with depression” (by IVPNetworks) was introduced in the Directory. It is an online psychological support program for people suffering from depression. The program is based on the methods of cognitive-behavioral therapy, which are individually tailored to the personal life situation of the participants. Novego: coping with depression is available in German with a tariff of €249.
