Transcatheter intracardiac pacing systems added to the List of reimbursable devices in Belgium
In March 2023, the National Institute for Health and Disability Insurance (INAMI-RIZIV) updated the List of reimbursable devices and Nominative lists to take effect on April 1, 2023.
Eight new codes for intracardiac transcatheter pacing systems with the corresponding conditions of reimbursement were added to the List of reimbursable devices. Some examples of new codes are provided below:
- 182851-182862 First implantable intracardiac transcatheter pacemaker for right ventricular pacing and sensing, including placement system;
- 182873-182884 Replacement of implantable intracardiac transcatheter pacemaker for right ventricular pacing and sensing, including placement system;
- 182932-182943 First implantable intracardiac transcatheter pacemaker for right ventricular pacing, as well as atrial sensing, including placement system;
Certain branded devices must be registered on the Nominative list in connection with the new codes to be reimbursed. Micra VR and Micra AV (by Medtronic) were added to the Nominative list.
