The second part of the interview with Michel Verhasselt about the reimbursement of medical devices in France

The new framework agreement on the medical devices included in the LPPR was signed on July 2, 2024.

Our goal at MTRC is to inform the decision-making of our clients and to support their market access activities. Below is a snapshot of our planned activities for the next two weeks. This can help our existing and prospective clients to better understand the potential scope of our support. From the week of 29th of July, we are planning to work on 21 projects. On July 16, 2024, the French Ministry of Labor, Health and Solidarity published the merged 2024 List of acts outside the nomenclature financed under MERRI G03.

The French National Authority for Health (HAS) released new recommendations about add-on reimbursement of medical devices and medical aids from the meetings of the National Commission for Evaluation of Medical Devices and Health Technologies (CNEDiMTS) in June 2024. Twelve recommendations were published concerning the registration of medical devices or modification of registration conditions/extension of indications for the medical devices in the List of Reimbursable Products and Services (LPPR). Opinions concern cardiovascular and endocrine devices, as well as medical aids.

On June 18, 2024, France introduced the tariffs of €10-€15 for rapid diagnostic tests performed by pharmacists. This initiative enables pharmacists to swiftly diagnose and manage common conditions, such as Group A Streptococcal pharyngitis and urinary tract infections.
