A regular update of the Danish SKS coding system from July 2025

The Danish Health Data Authority (Sundhedsdatastyrelsen) quarterly updates the Health Care Classification System (Sundhedsvæsenets Klassifikations System, SKS). The latest version was published in mid-June 2025 to come into force on July 1, 2025. 

Among other changes, seventy-eight new procedure codes were introduced concerning dermatology, endoscopy, ENT, interventional radiology, obstetrics and gynecology, orthopedics, spine, surgical procedures, and some other fields. Some examples of newly added codes are provided below:

  • KDQW99A Endoscopic glottoplasty, according to Wendler;
  • KMBC30 Suture of incomplete perineal rupture (grade 1 and 2) after childbirth;
  • KNAM99C CT-guided puncture of synovial cyst in facet joint in the lumbar spine;
  • KTNG60 Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) of pathological tissue in the knee or lower leg;
  • BNGC2 Photodynamic treatment of nail (PDT);
  • KZXG Use of 3D-printed equipment in connection with operations (supplementary code, can only be used in addition to the primary code).
