Rapid HTAs of four medical devices released in Tuscany

The HTA body of the Tuscany Regional Healthcare issues three types of documents: full HTA reports, rapid HTA reports, and motivational forms. With regional decree 2935 of February 13, 2024, Tuscany Regional Healthcare has published assessments of four medical devices in the cardiovascular and peripheral vascular, ICU/OR, pulmonary and airways, dermatology, and robotic surgery areas.

Some examples of the assessed technologies are provided below:

  • TricValve bicaval valve system SVC25, SVC29, IVC31, IVC35 by P+F PRODUCTS + FEATURES, bicaval transcatheter prosthesis, for patients suffering from severe symptomatic tricuspid valve regurgitation at high surgical risk or inoperable;
  • Signia Small Diameter Reload, disposable loader equipped with digital sensor for measuring tissue thickness compatible with Signia Smart Stapling Platform and Endo GIA staplers by Medtronic, for oncology patients with lung cancer undergoing thoracic surgery;
  • VENASEAL closing system by Medtronic for permanent and complete endovascular adhesive closure of the great saphenous vein and associated varices during the treatment of venous reflux.
