The new version of NABM nomenclature was released in France

On August 01, 2022, a new version of the Nomenclature of Medical Biology Acts (NABM080) was released. One new code for the detection of the monkeypox virus genome was introduced.

The detection of the monkeypox virus genome by nucleic acid amplification test specific for this virus is included in the NABM under code 5273. The test should be carried out in the case of diagnostic doubt (atypical symptomatology and/or uncharacterized contamination context) with the indications defined by the health authorities in view of the epidemiological situation. The reimbursement tariff for the test is €40.5.
