New procedure and diagnostic codes added to the private reimbursement schedule in England

On August 10, 2023, the Clinical Coding and Schedule Development (CCSD) working group, which develops and maintains procedural and diagnostics nomenclatures for private payers in England, published Bulletins 191 and 087 with changes to be implemented no later than October 6, 2023

Four new codes concerning urogynecology procedures were introduced. Some examples are provided below:

  • P2430 Robotic assisted laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy +/- ureterolysis, using mesh;
  • P2432 Sacrocolpopexy (including laparoscopic) +/- ureterolysis, using mesh.

Furthermore, one new procedure code was added in the neuromodulation field. 

Six new codes were introduced for in-vitro diagnostic tests. As an example, 0046G “MRD Genomic Sequencing Solid Tumours”.
