The updated German Uniform Evaluation Standard (EBM) catalog came into force on January 1, 2023. The EBM catalog (Einheitlicher Bewertungsmaßstab) regulates the reimbursement of services in the public outpatient sector in Germany and is updated once a quarter (four times a year). Among other changes, a new code for "zanadio" health app for follow-up and evaluation was introduced in the catalog.

The new code 01473 “Additional flat rate for the follow-up and the evaluation of the digital health application (DiGA) zanadio according to the Directory for digital health applications in line with § 139e SGB V, once in the case of treatment” with a tariff of €7.35 was introduced in the EBM catalog. The billing of the new service is limited to general practitioners and internists with or without a specialization in endocrinology, gastroenterology, and cardiology.

“zanadio” is an application that helps female patients to reduce their weight in the long term by changing their habits in the areas of exercise, nutrition, and other behavior.

The corresponding decision was made by the Evaluation Committee (Bewertungsausschuss) on November 11, 2022.
