The French National Authority for Health (HAS) released new recommendations about add-on reimbursement of medical devices from the meetings of the National Commission for Evaluation of Medical Devices and Health Technologies (CNEDiMTS) in August 2024. Five recommendations were published concerning the registration of medical devices or modification of registration conditions/extension of indications for the medical devices in the List of Reimbursable Products and Services (LPPR). Opinions concern cardiovascular, peripheral vascular, neuromodulation, orthopedic, and spine devices.

In the second quarter of 2024, the Dutch Healthcare Institute (ZIN) published four coverage positions on proton therapy in testicular cancer, pulmonary artery pressure remote monitoring in chronic heart failure and neuromodulation in polyneuropathy with positive recommendation for coverage under basic insurance package, and on physiotherapy and exercise therapy in primary care settings for lower back pain, which was not recommended for coverage under the basic insurance package.

On May 27, 2024, the Danish Health Technology Council released two new publications: an evaluation of Optune® (Novocure) and a major analysis on the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea.

On April 3, 2024, NHS England published the 2024/25 Prescribed Specialised Services (PSS) Operational Tool. This Tool is used as a mechanism to identify whether healthcare activity belongs to specialized services using so-called identification rules. Forty-three new service lines were introduced in multiple areas, and eight service lines were amended.

The HTA body of the Tuscany Regional Healthcare issues three types of documents: full HTA reports, rapid HTA reports, and motivational forms. With regional decree 4588 of March 5, 2024, Tuscany Regional Healthcare published two new assessments and one re-assessment of medical devices in the cardiovascular, neuromodulation, and surgical procedures areas.

In March 2024, several method assessments were initiated as a part of a framework for the managed introduction of innovations "New Methods" for cardiovascular, endocrine, gastrointestinal, men’s health, neurology and neurosurgery, neuromodulation, obstetrics and gynecology, robotic surgery, and some other fields.

In March 2024, several ongoing mini-HTA assessments for diagnostic imaging, e-health, endoscopic procedures, IVD, neuromodulation, peripheral vascular, and some other fields are evaluated as a part of a framework for the managed introduction of innovations "New Methods in Norway.

In January 2024, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) published three new Interventional Procedure Guidance (intravascular lithotripsy in peripheral arterial disease, temperature control after cardiac arrest, and pharyngeal electrical stimulation for neurogenic dysphagia) and one new Diagnostics Guidance (AI-derived software to help clinical decision making in stroke). Furthermore, one Diagnostics Guidance and five clinical guidelines were updated.

On January 30, 2024, the Institute for the Hospital Remuneration System (InEK) published the list of the requests for innovation funding (NUB) that were submitted by the hospitals in 2023. The medical technologies of cardiovascular, ENT, extracorporeal, gastrointestinal, neuromodulation, and other technology groups obtained positive status 1.
