List of medical procedures reimbursed with restrictions updated in the Netherlands

On December 19, 2022, the Dutch Healthcare Institute (ZIN) published the updated list of medical procedures reimbursed under basic health insurance with restrictions or limitations. The procedures have the so-called "claim" codes (aanspraakcodes). The Dutch Healthcare Authority assigns the "claim" codes based on positions published by the ZIN.

Some examples of the newly introduced procedures are listed below:

  • Procedure code 039486 “Hysterosalpingo-foam sonography” for investigation of the accessibility and patency of the fallopian tubes with a foam solution (foam) and ultrasound (HyFoSy) was included in the list with "claim" code 2605 "Fertility treatments";
  • Procedure code 033985 “Plastic correction of breast deformity, exclusively using Autologous Fat Transplantation, excluding primary or secondary reconstruction” with "claim" code 2704 " Plastic surgery treatments";
  • Procedure code 033993 “Dermatography (tattoo for areola reconstruction, scar correction, skin color abnormalities), excluding primary or secondary reconstruction” with "claim" code 2704 "Plastic surgery treatments";
