HTA submissions for robotic surgery open in Italy

On August 7, 2024, the National Agency for Regional Health Services (AGENAS) announced a call for applications for Health Technology Assessment (HTA) for robotic surgery systems with intended use in the following surgical specialties: general surgery, gynecology and obstetrics, and urology, as part of the 2023-2025 National Health Technology Assessment Program for Medical Devices, following the prioritization carried out by the Steering Committee (Cabina di Regia).

AGENAS invites manufacturers and/or distributors of the technologies under study to express their interest in providing information useful for the HTA assessment. Interested manufacturers and/or distributors are requested to notify AGENAS of their availability by sending an email to the following certified email address: agenas@pec.agenas.it no later than September 9, 2024.

Starting from September 10, 2024, AGENAS will send a questionnaire to the indicated contact persons regarding the technical characteristics, regulatory aspects, and available scientific evidence relating to the clinical, economic, and organizational aspects related to the use of the robotic surgery systems subject to the HTA assessment. The questionnaire must be returned to the certified email address agenas@pec.agenas.it no later than September 27, 2024.
