HAS evaluation plan for cancer somatic gene sequencing covered by the RIHN
On August 2, 2024, the French National Authority for Health (HAS) published the report "Targeted high-throughput sequencing activity (targeted panels) in somatic cancer genetics funded under the RIHN: Program for evaluating targeted high-throughput sequencing procedures". This report outlined the evaluation plan for targeted high-throughput sequencing in somatic cancer genetics.
This evaluation, requested by the General Directorate for Healthcare Provision (DGOS) and the Ministry of Labor, Health, and Solidarity (MTSS), aims to assess the most costly medical biology procedures and transition them to regular reimbursement under Statutory Health Insurance.
The evaluation will be conducted in nine waves, each including a common cancer on solid tumors, a rare and/or pediatric cancer, and a malignant hematological disease.
